The town of Borris is uplifted for Easter with exhibits of Borris Lace displayed in the windows of ‘O’Sheas, Joyce’s and the Credit Union.
This is a new venture for the group and includes experiments with colour and texture as well as traditional Borris Lace pieces. Many of the pieces have a specific Spring/Easter theme –easter eggs, baskets, flowers and bonnets, religious emblems.
The idea of this ‘Easter Display’ was to encourage members to try something different during Covid-19 restrictions and keep up with the lace making as they cannot meet together. We're sure you will agree it also helps brighten up the town.
The displays run from April 1st to 14th 2021.
We would ask people to be mindful of social distancing while viewing and to abide by the 5km rule which will stretch to the County and 20km border rule after April 12th.
Borris Lacemakers would like to thank Carlow Co. Council for funding under the Arts Acts Grant; the Shop Owners/Managers for facilitating this event; 'Mad about flowers', Skahanrane, Bagenalstown, for the wild flowers used in one of the exhibits and lastly their very own talented Lacemakers for providing such an elaborate and wonderful display!
